Description
Overview:
The Albino Neon Tetra is a rare and delicate-looking variant of the classic neon tetra, featuring a soft pinkish-white body, pearly sheen, and red eyes, with a faint shimmer of the species’ trademark blue and red stripe. It has the same peaceful schooling nature as the standard form, but with a unique, ethereal appearance that stands out beautifully in planted or community aquariums.
Origin:
The wild-type Paracheirodon innesi comes from the blackwater and clearwater streams of the Amazon Basin in Brazil, Peru, and Colombia. The albino form is a captive-bred strain developed through selective breeding.
Feeding:
Omnivorous and easy to feed. Will accept micro flakes, nano pellets, and crushed granules, along with frozen or live foods such as baby brine shrimp, cyclops, and daphnia. A varied diet helps maintain health and subtle coloration.
Tank Mates:
Exceptionally peaceful and perfect for small to medium community tanks. Best kept in schools of 8 or more for natural behavior and confidence. Ideal tank mates include other small tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, dwarf gouramis, and peaceful shrimp species.
