Overview
The Amap√° Scarlet Tetra is a small, vibrant freshwater tetra, featuring brilliant red and orange coloration that stands out in a well-planted community tank. Peaceful and active, it is perfect for schooling aquariums and biotope setups.
Origin
Native to the Amap√° region of northern Brazil, inhabiting slow-moving rivers, streams, and flooded forest areas with dense vegetation and leaf litter.
Feeding
Omnivorous. Accepts high-quality flake or micro-pellets, frozen foods (bloodworms, brine shrimp), and occasional live foods. A varied diet enhances colouration and overall health.
Tank Mates
Peaceful schooling species; best kept with other small, non-aggressive fish such as tetras, rasboras, and dwarf cichlids. Avoid larger, predatory fish.
Aggression
Completely peaceful. Displays typical schooling behaviour and prefers to be kept in groups of at least 6–8 individuals.
Experience Level
Beginner to intermediate. Hardy and adaptable, suitable for a variety of freshwater community setups.
