Overview:
The Ghost Cardinal is a small, peaceful, and delicate schooling fish with a translucent silvery body and subtle fin markings, giving it a ghostly, ethereal appearance. Its elegant, schooling behavior makes it an excellent addition to reef tanks, adding movement and grace.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, typically found in coral reef slopes and lagoons across the Red Sea to the central Pacific.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – thrives on small meaty foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality frozen preparations. Multiple feedings daily are recommended for optimal health.
Tank Mates:
Peaceful and schooling in nature, best kept in groups of 6 or more. Compatible with other non-aggressive reef fish. Avoid housing with large or aggressive predators.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive – a calm and sociable species that prefers the safety of a school.
Experience Level:
Beginner to intermediate aquarists – hardy, adaptable, and reef-safe, making it suitable for most community marine tanks.
