Description
Twilight Dwarf Angelfish – Centropyge deborae
Overview:
The Twilight Dwarf Angelfish is a rare and recently discovered species of angelfish, described only in 2012. Native to Fiji, it is prized by collectors for its deep blue to purple body with golden highlights, giving it a striking and elegant twilight glow. Its rarity makes it a true centerpiece fish for advanced marine aquariums.
Origin:
Exclusive to the Fiji Islands, usually found in outer reef slopes and rubble zones.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – thrives on a varied diet of marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and high-quality angelfish preparations. Regular feeding helps maintain color vibrancy and health.
Tank Mates:
Best suited with peaceful to semi-aggressive fish. Can be kept in reef systems, though occasional nipping at soft corals, clams, or sponges may occur.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive – may defend territory against other dwarf angelfish. Plenty of live rock with hiding spaces will reduce aggression and help it settle in.
Experience Level:
Advanced – due to its rarity, cost, and need for pristine water quality, this fish is recommended for experienced aquarists only.
Water Parameters:
-
Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)
-
pH: 8.1–8.4

The Twilight Dwarf Angelfish is a highly desirable and rare species, perfect for aquarists looking to add a truly unique and exotic angelfish to their collection.
