Overview:
The Crimson Knobbed Starfish is a bold and visually striking echinoderm, featuring bright red arms adorned with prominent knobs. Reef-safe and hardy, it adds a dramatic splash of color and texture to mature marine aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, typically found on sandy and rubble substrates near coral reefs.
Feeding:
Feeds on detritus, algae, and biofilm. Supplemental feeding with finely chopped meaty foods or algae-based diets may be required in aquariums with limited natural food sources.
Tank Mates:
Reef-safe with peaceful fish, corals, and most invertebrates. Avoid aggressive or predatory tank mates that could damage its arms.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive and peaceful.
Experience Level:
Intermediate. Requires a mature aquarium with stable water conditions, ample live rock, and substrate for grazing. Sensitive to sudden changes in salinity and water chemistry.
