Description

Overview:
The Bluefin Dwarf Angelfish is a hardy and attractive marine species featuring a dark body with vivid blue edging on the dorsal and anal fins—hence the name “Bluefin.” Compact, active, and full of personality, this angelfish is a great choice for moderately experienced reef keepers looking to add color and motion to their aquarium.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, including the waters of the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and the Andaman Sea, Centropyge multispinis is found in coral-rich lagoons and outer reef slopes, typically swimming among rubble and rocky outcrops.

Feeding:
An omnivore, the Bluefin Dwarf Angelfish thrives on a varied diet of marine-based flakes or pellets, along with frozen or fresh offerings like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and chopped algae. Supplement with spirulina and marine algae to support health and coloration.

Tank Mates:
Semi-aggressive and territorial at times, especially toward other dwarf angelfish, this species is best housed with similarly sized fish that can tolerate its bold temperament. Avoid keeping multiple dwarf angels unless in a very large tank with plenty of hiding spots. Generally reef-safe with caution—may nip at soft corals and clam mantles occasionally.

Water Parameters:

Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)

pH: 8.1–8.4

Salinity: 1.020–1.025 SG

Minimum Tank Size: 55 gallons

Add a touch of striking contrast and spirited behavior to your marine aquarium with the Bluefin Dwarf Angelfish—a vibrant and durable species perfect for fish-only or carefully planned reef systems.
