Bubble Mushroom Coral Polyp (Red & Orange) – Ricordea yuma
Overview:
The Bubble Mushroom Coral is a vibrant and visually striking corallimorph, featuring inflated, bubble-like polyps in bright red and orange hues. Its unique texture and coloration make it a standout in reef aquariums, adding dynamic movement and interest to rockwork or substrate.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, commonly found on sandy and rubble substrates near coral reefs.
Feeding:
Photosynthetic, deriving most nutrition from symbiotic zooxanthellae. Benefits from supplemental feedings of phytoplankton, mysis shrimp, or other liquid coral foods to encourage growth and enhance coloration.
Tank Mates:
Reef-safe and compatible with peaceful fish and invertebrates. Avoid placing near aggressive corals that may sting or overshadow it.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive. Generally grows slowly and does not overtake neighboring corals, making it easier to manage in mixed reef tanks.
Experience Level:
Beginner to intermediate. Hardy and adaptable, suitable for both established and mature reef tanks. Prefers moderate lighting, low to moderate water flow, and stable water parameters.
