Description

Overview:
The Domino Clownfish is a striking designer variation of the classic Ocellaris Clownfish, named for its bold black body contrasted with bright white spotting patterns—often resembling a domino tile. This unique and hardy fish adds dramatic flair to any marine aquarium and is ideal for both novice and seasoned aquarists.

Origin:
A selectively bred, captive-raised variant of the Ocellaris Clownfish, the Domino Clown was developed in aquaculture facilities and shares the robust, peaceful nature of its wild-type relatives. Being tank-bred, it readily adapts to home aquariums and is more resistant to disease and stress.

Feeding:
Domino Clownfish are omnivores and thrive on a varied diet. Offer high-quality marine flakes or pellets, along with frozen foods like brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood to promote optimal color and vitality.

Tank Mates:
Peaceful and social, Domino Clownfish do well with a variety of reef-safe tank mates including gobies, chromis, dartfish, blennies, and firefish. They can be kept singly or in bonded pairs, and they rarely display aggression unless defending a territory or hosting an anemone.

Water Parameters:

Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)

pH: 8.1–8.4

Salinity: 1.020–1.025 SG

Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons

Anemone Compatibility:
Though not required, Domino Clownfish may choose to host in anemones such as Entacmaea quadricolor (Bubble Tip Anemone) in mature, stable reef tanks.

Make a bold statement in your reef setup with the Domino Clownfish—a hardy, easy-to-care-for designer clown that brings personality and unique beauty to any marine aquarium.
