Highly efficient at algae removal, it is prized for keeping glass, rocks, and plants clean without harming live plants or overpopulating.

Origin

Found across Southeast Asia in freshwater and mildly brackish habitats such as rivers, streams, and mangrove edges.

Feeding

An exceptional algae grazer that naturally consumes:

• Soft film algae

• Diatoms

• Green spot algae

• Biofilm

Supplement lightly with algae wafers or blanched vegetables in very clean tanks.

Peaceful and suitable for most community aquariums, including:
