Overview:
The Pederson Cleaner Shrimp is a small, strikingly colorful reef shrimp known for its symbiotic cleaning behavior. It actively removes parasites and dead tissue from fish, making it both functional and visually appealing in reef aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Caribbean and Western Atlantic, commonly found in coral reefs and associated with sea anemones.
Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feeds on parasites, detritus, and leftover food. In captivity, will accept finely chopped seafood, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and high-quality prepared foods.
Tank Mates:
Peaceful and reef-safe. Compatible with all reef fish and invertebrates. Its cleaning behavior benefits tank mates rather than causing stress.
Aggression:
Completely peaceful; may exhibit minor territorial behavior near its host anemone.
Experience Level:
Beginner to intermediate. Hardy and adaptable, suitable for established reef tanks with stable water parameters and suitable host anemones or coral.
