Found in the Indo-Pacific, commonly inhabiting sandy bottoms and shallow reef edges.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – thrives on meaty foods such as shrimp, silversides, fish, and frozen marine preparations, while also sustaining itself through symbiotic zooxanthellae under strong reef lighting.
Tank Mates:
Well-suited to clownfish, peaceful reef-safe fish, and select invertebrates. Avoid sessile corals or delicate invertebrates nearby, as the anemone’s sting is potent.
Aggression:
Highly territorial – its powerful nematocysts can sting or consume small fish and invertebrates that stray too close.
