The Yellow Congo Tetra is a selectively bred color morph of the popular Congo Tetra, featuring a warm golden-yellow body, shimmering iridescence, and flowing, translucent fins. It retains the same peaceful schooling nature and graceful swimming style of the standard form, making it a stunning and active addition to larger community aquariums.
Origin:
The wild-type Phenacogrammus interruptus is native to the Congo River Basin in Central Africa, inhabiting slow-moving streams and tributaries. The yellow morph is a captive-bred variety developed in the aquarium trade.
Feeding:
Omnivorous and easy to feed. Accepts high-quality flakes and pellets, supplemented with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia to maintain vibrant color and health.
Tank Mates:
Peaceful and best kept with other medium-sized community fish such as larger tetras, rainbowfish, peaceful barbs, Corydoras, and dwarf cichlids. Keep in groups of 6 or more for best color and behavior.
