The Black Pyramid Butterfly Fish is a striking schooling species, recognized by its jet-black body contrasted with a bright white triangular “pyramid” marking on its sides. Active, hardy, and peaceful, this butterflyfish adds elegance and movement to large marine aquariums.
Origin:
Found across the Indian Ocean, including the Maldives, Seychelles, and East African reefs.
Feeding:
Primarily planktivorous – feeding on zooplankton in the wild. In aquariums, it adapts well to frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality marine pellets.
Tank Mates:
Best kept in peaceful community tanks, and thrives in groups or schools. Ideal for fish-only systems, as it is not considered reef safe.
