Overview
Java Moss is one of the most popular and hardy aquarium mosses in the hobby. Its fine, branching, lush green fronds make it perfect for beginners and experts alike. It attaches easily to driftwood, rocks, and other aquarium décor, forming dense mats or bushy clusters.
Origin
Native to Southeast Asia and widely used in freshwater aquascaping.
Lighting & Placement
Light: Low to medium
Placement: Anywhere—foreground, midground, background, or attached to hardscape
Best Use: Moss walls, breeding tanks, shrimp tanks, natural aquascapes
Notes: Higher light produces more compact growth; low light stays looser but still healthy.

Thrives without CO₂ but responds well to CO₂ and fertilizers
